Job Title: Benefits Manager (Temporary)
Location: Onsite – Oakland, CA
Duration: Through July
Pay Range: $80 - $85 per hour

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Benefits Manager to join our team on a temporary basis through July. This role requires an individual who can take ownership of the full scope of benefits administration while working onsite in Oakland as part of a small, agile team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, leave policies, and flexible spending accounts.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits inquiries and issues.

  • Lead vendor management, including negotiations and ongoing relationships.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations relating to employee benefits.

  • Analyze benefits data to inform recommendations and strategic decisions.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with internal stakeholders and external providers.

  • Present benefit information to employees in both large and small group settings, virtually and in-person.

  • Collaborate closely with HR partners to support staff development and engagement initiatives.

  • Foster a team-oriented, collaborative work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and regulatory requirements.

  • Proven experience in benefits administration and vendor negotiation.

  • Ability to thrive in a lean team environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Comfortable with both in-person and virtual presentations.

  • Demonstrated commitment to collaboration and staff development.

Preferred Tools & Software:

  • Slack: Primary communication tool

  • Workday: HRIS experience is a plus

  • Coupa: For invoice management

  • Concur: Familiarity with expense reporting

  • Google Workspace (Gsuite): Proficiency required



Pay Details: $80.00 to $85.00 per hour
