Job Title: Benefits Manager (Temporary)
Location: Onsite – Oakland, CA
Duration: Through July
Pay Range: $80 - $85 per hour
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Benefits Manager to join our team on a temporary basis through July. This role requires an individual who can take ownership of the full scope of benefits administration while working onsite in Oakland as part of a small, agile team.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, leave policies, and flexible spending accounts.
Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits inquiries and issues.
Lead vendor management, including negotiations and ongoing relationships.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations relating to employee benefits.
Analyze benefits data to inform recommendations and strategic decisions.
Communicate clearly and effectively with internal stakeholders and external providers.
Present benefit information to employees in both large and small group settings, virtually and in-person.
Collaborate closely with HR partners to support staff development and engagement initiatives.
Foster a team-oriented, collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and regulatory requirements.
Proven experience in benefits administration and vendor negotiation.
Ability to thrive in a lean team environment and manage multiple priorities.
Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable with both in-person and virtual presentations.
Demonstrated commitment to collaboration and staff development.
Preferred Tools & Software:
Slack: Primary communication tool
Workday: HRIS experience is a plus
Coupa: For invoice management
Concur: Familiarity with expense reporting
Google Workspace (Gsuite): Proficiency required
Pay Details: $80.00 to $85.00 per hour
