Overnight Site Monitor – Oakland CA

LHH is seeking a dedicated Site Monitor for our client in Oakland. The Site Monitor will work overnights (12AM-8AM) at a multi-unit shelter for the homeless. The person in this role should be familiar with harm-reduction and supporting populations with mental health and/or substance abuse issues. We are hiring urgently!

Job overview:

• Employment type: Contract, possibly Contract to Hire

• Location: 100% onsite in Oakland CA

• Hours: Monday – Friday, 12AM-8AM, rotating weekends

Responsibilities:

• Supporting patients/residents at a voluntary residential facility that provides care for individuals experiencing homelessness

• Arranging rideshare transportation for residents, assisting with meals, providing general oversight of the facility

• Responding to resident needs, responding to crisis situations and de-escalating situations

• Delivering meals to residents, performing room checks, general facility upkeep

• Collaborating with kitchen staff, case managers, and operations manager

Qualifications:

• Background and experienced in social services, specifically within the homeless population

• Must be comfortable working with clients/patients with substance abuse issues

• Must be comfortable de-escalating situations

• Excellent customer service and people skills

• Someone with mixed experience in security and social services would be ideal
