Risk Management Analyst - Full On-Site in Oakland (Temporary Position for 3-6 Months)
Position Details:
Title: Risk Management Analyst
Location: Oakland, CA (Fully On-Site)
Type: Temporary (3-6 months)
Pay: $42.86 per hour
Role Overview: Under the direction of the Risk Manager or designee, provides administrative support and assistance in the areas of claims management, safety, and general insurance programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Claims Management:
Receive, evaluate, and process insurance billings, liability, auto, and property damage claims.
Review liability claims, accident reports, property damage reports, Workers’ Compensation claims, and other documents for accuracy and completeness.
Conduct preliminary or follow-up fact-finding interviews on litigated and non-litigated cases.
Assist legal counsel in gathering information for interrogatories, requests for admission, and production of documents.
Assist with responding to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and public records requests.
Set up files, log information, and prepare reports, letters, correspondence, and memos.
Insurance Administration:
Prepare, organize, and maintain complete and accurate claim and insurance files, logs, and reports.
Review insurance policies for accuracy and completeness and ensure compliance with Authority requirements.
Interact with brokers regarding quotes and process insurance billings.
Assist in the insurance evaluation process and correspond with claimants, adjusters, insurance brokers, attorneys, and other individuals and agencies.
Safety and Compliance:
Assist with setting up Workers’ Compensation claims, working with claims examiners and medical providers.
Monitor and track claims status and ergonomic assessment requests and equipment procurement.
Assist departments with safety training according to CAL-OSHA compliance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Minimum of two years of applicable experience.
Valid California driver's license and an insurable driving record.
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
Knowledge & Skills:
Basic principles, practices, and techniques of insurance administration, claims investigation, adjustment, and workers’ compensation.
Claims processing, insurance record keeping, safety standards, government codes, public liability, and rules of evidence.
Ability to provide complex administrative support to the insurance and claims process.
Adjust or settle claims and document the process.
Prepare detailed written reports and correspondence.
Respond to public inquiries and maintain community relations.
Conduct research, collect, organize, and analyze data pertaining to insurance and claims management.
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Pay Details: $42.86 per hour
