Director of Business Intelligence

Oklahoma City (Relocation Available)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Skills/Leadership

  • Develop the strategic analytics roadmap for the organization, balancing analytics with sufficient business acumen to translate complex business processes into meaningful data products, including diagnostic and predictive analytics.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional business leaders (commercial, operations, etc.) to understand business needs, develop benchmarking, and provide insights that drive performance improvements and company growth.

  • Establish a program management discipline that tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of BI initiatives. Provide regular updates to senior executives.

  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and presentation of business data.

  • Interpret data/business trends and translate them into actionable insights. Present the findings in concise, easily digestible data-driven insights to stakeholders, business sponsors, and senior executives.

  • Identify new opportunities for leveraging data to drive business improvements and competitive advantage.

  • Ensure data quality, governance, and security standards are maintained.

  • Ensure quality and consistency in reporting, including building, writing, and presentation.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality outputs, achieving project goals, and considering competing business priorities.

  • Support annual and ad hoc budgeting and forecasting using insights from observed operational and commercial trends.

  • Support M&A activity through automation of data extraction for an expedited and comprehensive analysis in the diligence process.

  • Support integration of acquired businesses in collaboration with business partners.

  • Work with the IT team to evaluate and implement BI tools and technologies. Ensure the team is equipped to deliver effective analytics solutions.

  • Continuously monitor industry and technology trends and best practices in business intelligence and analytics. Recommend improvements to existing processes and systems.

Culture/Organization

  • Communicate with stakeholders in a clear and concise manner and develop executive-level presentations and other key communications.

  • Promote a data-driven culture throughout the organization.

Team

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data analysts and BI professionals. Promote collaboration and professional development within the team.

  • Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and support the professional growth and development of team members.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

The type of experience required to effectively perform the essential functions and responsibilities of this position are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role with a track record of demonstrating business acumen.

  • A proven track record of developing and executing data-driven strategies.

  • Expert in BI tools (Power BI preferred) and data management technologies (e.g., SQL, ETL processes).

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • A proven track record of successful project management for complex projects.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate.

  • Experience in project management and agile methodologies is a plus.
