Customer Service Dispatcher – Olathe, KS
LHH is partnering with a client within the Transportation Industry in the Olathe, KS area who is seeking a Customer Service Dispatcher role.
Responsibilities:
  • Monitors Load Analyzer on an ongoing basis. Uses independent judgment to determine what loads need to be booked based on daily asset balance, customer commitments, load profitability and network balance.
  • Escalates problems to Customer Support Manager on customers not meeting commitments and/or customers with over-tendered commitments.
  • Monitors head haul balance needs daily and makes decisions based on balances.
  • Targets equipment utilization at profitable levels within capacity availability while meeting customer service requirements.
  • Processes EDI load tenders and makes discretionary decisions to accept or reject based on recommendations generated by Load Analyzer.
  • Processes daily callbacks for customers to solicit freight as needed to balance the regional area.
  • Verifies type and value of product the customer is shipping or receiving and receives approval from Customer Support Manager.
  • Establishes and maintains customer relationships.
  • Communicates with customers on service-related situations and issues.
  • Advises planners to remove trucks from the Equipment Availability Report when a same-day load is booked.
  • Updates and corrects inaccurate temperatures in orders based on information provided in the Bill of Lading (BOL)
  • Recognizes patterns of temperature discrepancies in orders and escalates to management for improvement to Master Order templates.
  • Updates and corrects the Continuous Run flag in orders based on information provided in the Bill of Lading (BOL)
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in customer service or dispatching within the Transportation industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with patience and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in using customer service software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
