Position Overview

A growing organization is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Vice President of Accounting to lead its financial operations, treasury, consumer lending, and enterprise risk management. This executive role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting while supporting strategic financial initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in public company accounting, SEC reporting, and leadership in fast-paced environments.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including SEC filings and tax laws.

  • Manage internal and external audits and maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting.

Treasury & Consumer Lending

  • Manage banking relationships and oversee cash flow strategies.

  • Lead consumer lending initiatives, including third-party lender negotiations and pricing strategies.

  • Implement frameworks to enhance passive income and lending performance.

Enterprise Risk Management

  • Lead company-wide risk identification, evaluation, and mitigation strategies.

  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure proactive risk planning and response.

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Provide financial analysis to support strategic planning and business decisions.

  • Partner with the CFO to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company goals.

  • Monitor financial performance and recommend improvements.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and mentor accounting teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure teams are equipped with the tools, training, and resources to succeed.

  • Identify and develop high-potential talent and succession plans for key roles.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and IT to align business objectives.

Additional Duties

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support organizational goals.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

  • CPA certification.

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, including Big 4 public accounting and SEC reporting for a public company.

  • At least 5 years in a senior leadership role with direct team management.

  • Strong technical accounting and research skills.

  • Extensive knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting standards.

  • Excellent project management and communication skills.

  • Proven ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
