LHH Recruitment Solutions is excited to be partnering with a growing company for a direct-hire Plant Manager role in Portland, OR. The Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the plant, ensuring efficient production, packaging, and inventory management. This role requires strong leadership and development skills to build and maintain a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- People Leadership and Development: 80%-90% of this role involves leading and developing the plant team. The Plant Manager will delegate tasks to build team confidence and trust, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Operations Management: Manage the daily operations of the plant, including production, packaging, and inventory management. The plant is approximately 10K-12K sq feet and employs around 50 people.
- Financial Oversight: Oversee the plant's profit and loss (P&L) to ensure financial targets are met.
- Communication: Maintain open communication with the sales team, although the Plant Manager will not directly manage or oversee sales.
- Technical Skills: Utilize Excel extensively for various operational and financial tasks.
- Project Leadership: Lead specific projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and implementing new technologies within the plant.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Develop and implement sustainability initiatives to reduce the plant's environmental impact.
- Innovation: Drive innovation by introducing new processes and technologies to enhance production capabilities.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience with strong leadership and development skills within the plant/production space. Additionally, 2+ years of experience in senior-level management roles is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in the manufacturing industry is essential.
- Skills: Advanced mathematical skills are necessary for this role.
