Job Title: Junior Tax Preparer
Location: Oswego, IL 60543
Job Type: Part-Time, Seasonal (January - Mid-April)
About Us: Our client is a trusted provider of tax preparation services, dedicated to ensuring our clients receive accurate and timely tax returns. We are seeking a detail-oriented professional that is eager to learn to join our team for the upcoming tax season.
Job Description: As a Junior Tax Preparer, you will play a crucial role in our tax preparation process. Your responsibilities will include:
Participate in detailed training days to learn the responsibilities and skills for this position
Learn to prepare simple 1040 individual tax returns for an array of clients
Reviewing client returns for accuracy and completeness.
Reviewing client paperwork and provided documents.
Assisting with the daily operations of the review center including daily set-up and office closing responsibilities
Ensuring compliance with IRS requirements, standards, and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Preparation: Prepare and review simple 1040 individual tax returns.
Quality Review: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of client returns.
Document Review: Review client paperwork and provided documents for accuracy.
Daily Operations: Assist with the daily operations of the review center and office preparation.
Compliance: Ensure all tax returns comply with IRS requirements, standards, and regulations.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in tax preparation is a plus
Education in accounting is helpful - a current student would be a great fit!
Knowledge of IRS regulations and tax laws (Course in Taxation or tax training)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills.
