Administrative Assistant | Overland Park, KS
LHH is partnering with a client in the legal industry who is seeking to hire an Administrative Assistant near Overland Park, KS. This person will be providing direct support within the Accounting Department. Key responsibilities include managing calendars, scheduling meetings, arranging travel, processing expense reimbursements, and handling special projects for department leadership. Additionally, this position involves assisting with event planning, coordinating new hire orientation, and managing confidential correspondence. Office duties include overseeing mailroom needs and managing visitor logistics. Strong organizational skills and the ability to efficiently handle a variety of tasks are crucial for this role.
Responsibilities:
· Maintain department travel calendar
· Plan events (holiday party, group outings, lunches, etc.).
· Participate and assist with “Fun” Committee and Wellness Initiatives.
· Set up new hire orientation calendars/onboarding.
· Maintain the monthly time-off/revenue calendar.
· Assist with memos and draft communications for distribution within the department.
· Tracks spend against our budget.
· Coordinate staff development and training sessions.
· Process expense reports monthly.
· Maintain records, databases, be primary point on Intranet page(s).
· Handle confidential correspondence, emails & document preparation.
· Coordinate ad hoc projects at the request of Department and Firm management.
· Manage logistics for visitors (where will they sit, flights, transportation, hotel recommendations).
Requirements:
· A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is recommended, preferably in Accounting or Business.
· 2+ years in professional services industry experience preferred.
· Software: Financial software experience a plus.
· Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, Word.
· Strong written (including word processing and proofreading) and verbal communication skills.
· Solid organizational and planning skills a must!
· Ability to function as a self-starter, work independently and with a large team, and meet strict deadlines; detail & results oriented.
