LHH is working with a client in the Overland Park, KS area, within the commercial insurance industry, who is seeking to hire a Claims Specialist. This role is responsible for managing the full life cycle of commercial insurance claims, including intake, investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial general liability (CGL), property, and casualty claims, and will be adept at working with internal teams, clients, and third-party administrators to ensure timely and accurate claims handling.
Responsibilities:
- Review and process incoming commercial insurance claims for accuracy and completeness.
- Investigate claims by gathering relevant documentation, interviewing involved parties, and coordinating with adjusters and legal counsel.
- Evaluate liability and determine appropriate claim reserves and settlement values.
- Negotiate settlements within authority limits and escalate complex cases as needed.
- Maintain detailed and organized claim files, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
- Communicate with policyholders, brokers, and vendors to provide updates and resolve inquiries.
- Identify trends or irregularities in claims to mitigate risk and recommend process improvements.
- Collaborate with underwriting and risk management teams to support loss control initiatives.
- Stay current on industry regulations, legal precedents, and best practices in claims handling.
Requirements:
- Associate degree- Required!
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
