Human Resources Assistant | Overland Park, KS

LHH is working with a client in the Overland Park, KS area who is seeking to hire an HR Assistant. In this role, you will be responsible for providing support to ensure the efficient operation of the HR department. This role involves maintaining employee records, assisting with benefits administration, supporting recruitment and onboarding, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures. This will be an interim position supporting a project implementation. Our ideal candidate would have at least 2+ years of HR experience, supporting many different areas within the department: Recruiting, Onboarding, Benefit Administration, Employee Relations, etc.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate onboarding and new hire orientation processes
  • Maintain employee records and update HR databases (e.g., new hires, terminations, changes)
  • Assist with benefits enrollment, payroll processing, and time-off tracking
  • Support recruitment efforts by scheduling interviews and communicating with candidates
  • Help organize training sessions and performance review cycles
  • Respond to internal HR-related inquiries and provide administrative support to the HR team
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and labor regulations

Requirements:
  • Bachelor of HR Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in an HR or administrative support role
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS systems
  • High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion
