Tax Analyst (Sales/Use Tax and Gross Receipts)

Paying: $29-32/hour based on experience

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Indirect Tax Analyst to manage sales and use tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions. This role involves tax research, compliance tracking, financial data analysis, and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate sales/use tax compliance, including minimal business license and gross receipts tax filings.
  • Maintain and update the tax calendar and database, adjusting for new jurisdictions and regulatory changes.
  • Extract financial data from various sources and prepare sales tax returns using spreadsheets and databases.
  • Utilize Access Database to generate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and expensed supplies summaries.
  • Analyze transactions to determine correct tax treatment and identify applicable sales tax exemptions or reductions.
  • Research tax codes and regulations to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for savings.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in tax compliance.
  • Assist with special tax projects and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Business required
  • 2+ years of sales and use tax experience
  • Strong knowledge of sales and use tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and financial databases.
  • Experience in tax compliance, reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Ability to research and interpret tax laws for compliance and optimization.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.


Pay Details: $29.00 to $32.00 per hour
