This role offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 to $140,000, plus a 10% annual bonus, and is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional with strong leadership skills and a background in financial reporting, compliance, and operational finance.

Assistant Controller

? Location: Pennsauken, NJ (Fully On-Site)

? Compensation: $120,000 – $140,000 + 10% Bonus


Position Overview:

A growing building systems firm is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller to support financial operations and reporting. This is a fully on-site role, ideal for a finance professional with strong leadership skills and a background in construction or service-based industries.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and forecasts.
  • Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure timely month-end close.
  • Support budgeting, variance analysis, and financial performance reporting.
  • Prepare and file sales/use tax and payroll tax returns.
  • Coordinate with auditors and assist in audit preparation.
  • Oversee billing, collections, accounts payable, and payroll processes.
  • Become a subject matter expert in the ERP system (COINS).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA/CPA a plus).
  • Minimum 7 years of accounting experience, including 3+ years in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory compliance.
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, Graphs).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems; COINS experience preferred.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Pennsauken, NJ.
