LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a reputable company in Philadelphia, PA. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with excellent analytical and organizational skills. This role is fully onsite, requiring presence at our Philadelphia office from Monday through Friday.

Job Title: Assistant Controller

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Employment Type: Full-time, Onsite (Monday through Friday)

Salary Range: $130,000 - $140,000 per year

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development and management of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies, and recommend improvements as necessary.
  • Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
  • Account Reconciliation: Oversee the reconciliation of general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Tax Compliance: Assist with tax filings and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Special Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Controller or CFO.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP), advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Attributes: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
