LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a firm based in Philadelphia, PA. We are in search of a Financial Controller on a contract basis covering a medical leave expected to last 6 months. Salary: $45-$50/hr. Responsibilities:

  • Compile and present all periodic financial statements, including quarterly and annual reports.
  • Ensure the precise and prompt release of financial data, adhering to GAAP standards, which encompasses monthly forecasts, quarterly reports, annual audits, and budget plans.
  • Oversee the preparation of regulatory filings and provide support during regulatory examinations.
  • Conduct and evaluate reconciliations for cash, general ledger, and sub-ledger accounts.
  • Manage the detailed recording of fixed assets and the corresponding book and tax value documentation.
  • Facilitate audit procedures and control tests, pinpointing and addressing potential discrepancies with department heads to enhance controls.
  • Develop projections for cash flow management.
  • Lead and mentor a team of corporate and budget accountants.
  • Supervise and provide quality assurance for various accounting operations.
  • Account for and report on defined benefit plans.
  • Investigate accounting standards and draft preliminary guidance on new declarations.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities to ensure the department's smooth functioning.
Education/Experience:
  • Possess a Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Required to hold a CPA certification.
  • At least 8 years of experience in public and general accounting, with a solid grasp of accounting principles.
  • Skilled in cash management strategies and tax-related provisions.
  • Preferably have experience in leading audit processes.
  • Proficient understanding of GAAP, financial reporting practices, and internal control frameworks.
  • Familiarity with risk management methodologies and instruments.
  • Proven experience in leading a small accounting team is an advantage.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
