Our work is heavily focused on grant management, both restricted and non-restricted, and we are seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring our financial health and compliance with local and government regulations.

Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Salary: $75-$90K

Job Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grant Management: Oversee and manage both restricted and non-restricted grants, ensuring compliance with all funding requirements.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Audit Preparation: Lead the preparation for local and government audits, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Tax Compliance: Manage the preparation and filing of Form 990 and other tax-related documents.
  • Budgeting: Assist in the development and monitoring of the organization’s budget, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard the organization’s assets.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with program managers and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
  • Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to junior accounting staff.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit organization with a focus on grant management.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP and non-profit accounting principles.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
