Building and maintaining a best-in-class accounting function is core to our success. This key role in the accounting organization will provide critical analysis related to inventory and product margin reporting and will also play an integral part in our inventory accounting system implementation. This role reports to the Inventory Accounting Manager and partners with teams across the global organization. Job Title: Temporary Staff Accountant

Duration: 6-9 months (covering medical leave)

Pay Rate: $28-$32/hr

Location: Fully Onsite

Job Description:

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. Building and maintaining a best-in-class accounting function is core to our success. This key role in the accounting organization will provide critical analysis related to inventory and product margin reporting and will also play an integral part in our inventory accounting system implementation. This role reports to the Inventory Accounting Manager and partners with teams across the global organization. Responsibilities:

  • Prepare month-end Inventory and COGS related journals such as but not limited to: COGS, Capitalized Cost, Reconcile Inventory Receipts, Account for Transfer Orders, Ensure the proper accounting treatment of Intercompany Transfers, Reconcile Inventory.
  • At the direction of the Accounting Manager, work to develop process improvements for the recording of inventory movement and promote inventory accuracy across the organization and its subsidiaries.
  • Collaborate on the annual audit by preparing documents and providing supporting details as requested.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and provide data insights for our business partners.

You Must Have:

  • Four-year college degree required, with an emphasis in accounting or finance. If you have 2 years of hands-on accounting experience, a 4-year degree in Math, Engineering, or Computer Science will suffice.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in accounting, performing monthly close duties or inventory functions.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups) and experience working with large datasets.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization.

Preferred Skill Set:

  • Experience in Oracle or NetSuite is a plus.
  • Prior experience in reconciling multilocation subledger inventory.
  • Conceptual understanding of the procure-to-pay process and how it flows through the balance sheet.
  • Cost accounting experience is a plus.
  • Good at working independently - proactive, self-starter.
