We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant for a temporary position in Philadelphia, PA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing various accounting tasks to support our financial operations during a busy period, with a focus on grant management and compliance.

Job Title: Staff Accountant (Temporary)

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Salary: $32-$38/hr.

Job Type: Temporary, Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices, manage payment schedules, and handle vendor inquiries.
  • Accounts Receivable: Prepare and send invoices to clients, track payments, and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for management review.
  • Expense Tracking: Monitor and record company expenses, ensuring proper documentation and categorization.
  • Grant Management: Track and manage grant funds, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and reporting deadlines.
  • Audit Support: Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Assist with special projects and tasks as needed to support the accounting department.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar role within the non-profit sector.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience with accounting software is a plus.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to handle a variety of tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Grant Management: Experience with grant management and compliance is highly preferred.
