Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bookkeeper with a strong background in the construction industry to join our client's team in central Phoenix. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of bookkeeping experience, an Associate degree and a thorough understanding of 1099 and W-9 forms. This role involves managing all financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accuracy in financial records within the construction sector. This is an onsite opportunity Monday - Friday between 8am - 5pm. Compensation is between $50k - $60k depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing and payment management
- Prepare and file 1099 and W-9 forms in compliance with IRS regulations
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial data is accurate and consistent
- Manage payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees and contractors
- Handle month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
- Assist with audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations
- Coordinate with project managers and other departments to ensure accurate job costing and financial reporting
- Maintain organized and secure financial files and documentation
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience, with a strong emphasis on the construction industry
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar programs
- Strong understanding of 1099 and W-9 forms and related regulations
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Knowledge of job costing and project accounting is highly desirable
