Medical Credits and Refunds Specialist

$22.00 - $24.00 per Hour
- Providing guidance in determining if a refund request is appropriate and can be supported and processed
- Taking inventory of charged transactions when less than zero making this secondary priority
- Manage problem and resolution of refund questions that arise
- Consistent review of accounts, prioritizing those less than zero and ensuring prompt resolution
- Successfully managing credit balances, and providing guidance and clarity as needed
- Making determination of primary payors when multiple payments come in, and ability to determine appropriate adjustments needed
- Consistent in maintaining company standards and adherence to proper ethics when dealing with credit balances
- 3 or more recent years’ experience in Private Care refunds, Medical Claims, Claims Adjustments, health plan transactions, eligibility, and payment activities
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and AthenaHealth Software
- Experience in MS Suite, Excel, and proficiency with computer systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Can maintain high detail in a fast-paced environment, skilled in problem resolution
- Highly professional, and ability to communicate in a professional manner and eager to take on new responsibilities
- Ability to focus on and complete assigned tasks efficiently and accurately
