LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Relations Coordinator to join our team in Mesa, AZ. This is a short term contract, with the possibility of being extended! This role is vital in ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for patients with serious mental illness (SMI) and behavioral health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cross-train and perform multiple duties: greeting patients, scheduling appointments and transportation, verifying insurance, and checking patients in and out.

  • Serve as an information resource, maintaining professionalism and courtesy.

  • Process patient check-ins and promptly notify the appropriate staff member of arrivals.

  • Complete a four-point check to update relevant information during auto-flow.

  • Review and update daily schedules to ensure accurate data collection.

  • Gather and maintain patient demographics in compliance with UDS guidelines.

  • Possess basic knowledge of insurance levels including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial plans.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED within six months of assuming the position. An Associate's degree in healthcare administration, insurance billing and coding, psychology, social work, human services, or communication is preferred.

  • At least one year of front office customer-facing service experience in healthcare, behavioral health, dental, or a medical office is preferred. Experience in hospitality or banking is also considered.

  • Familiarity with health insurance eligibility and electronic health record management systems; experience with NextGen is preferred.

  • Intermediate competency in Microsoft Suite and web-based programs.

  • Strong organizational skills, flexibility, ability to multi-task, time management, attention to detail, and adaptability to a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven track record of high-level customer service in a healthcare setting.

  • Must have or be willing to apply for a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card (Level 1) within 7 working days of assuming the role.

  • Applicants must pass a TB test.
