Payroll Specialist

Compensation: $25/hr - $30/hr - DOE

Schedule: Monday through Friday - training will be 8am - 5pm, following training employees can start as early as 7am. This position is fully onsite


We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our client's dynamic team in North Phoenix. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in payroll/accounting, maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations, and managing payroll for 400+ employees. This is a long term, onsite opportunity located in North Phoenix, AZ.



Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounting tasks including reconciliations, journal entries, and scheduling.

  • Handle payroll for 400+ employees across 4-5 stores.

  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness in payroll processing.

  • Perform regular reconciliations to ensure financial records are accurate.

  • Prepare and post journal entries.

  • Assist in scheduling and other administrative tasks as needed.

  • Work independently with limited direction in a high-stress environment.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting.

  • At least 1 year of experience in payroll.

  • Experience with Reynolds & Reynolds software is a plus!

  • Strong understanding of reconciliations, journal entries, and scheduling.

  • Self-starter with the ability to learn quickly.

  • Comfortable working in a high-stress environment.

  • Experience managing high volume tasks.


Skills:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and payroll systems.

  • Effective communication skills.



Pay Details: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour
