Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Payroll Specialist to join our team. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintaining payroll records, and providing support on payroll-related inquiries. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and has a solid understanding of payroll systems and relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll for employees across multiple departments or locations.

  • Review and verify employee timesheets and attendance records.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

  • Maintain and update employee payroll records including tax withholdings, benefits deductions, and direct deposit information.

  • Handle payroll discrepancies, adjustments, and employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

  • Collaborate with HR and Accounting departments to ensure accurate benefit and deduction processing.

  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management as needed.

  • Assist in year-end processing, including W-2s, 1099s, and other tax forms.

  • Maintain confidentiality of payroll information and employee records at all times.

  • Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's' degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.

  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-state or large organization.

  • Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday, QuickBooks, etc.).

  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of discretion and confidentiality.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is a plus.

  • Experience with integrated HRIS and payroll systems.




Pay Details: $24.00 to $30.00 per hour
