LHH is hiring an Engineering Maintenance Project Manager will oversee the planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within their assigned area. This role also involves advising on corrective and preventive maintenance of equipment, the mill, and property, either personally or through subordinates.

Responsibilities:

  • Safety and Health: Prioritize safety and health in compliance with company policies and federal/state regulations. Collaborate with the Vice President of Purchasing to ensure outside service units adhere to the same standards. Enforce high safety and housekeeping standards to prevent accidents and injuries.

  • Project Management: Manage daily improvement (MDI), project management office (PMO), capital expenditure (CapEx) projects, and predictive/preventive maintenance programs, including CMMS implementations and planning.

  • Team Management: Hire, onboard, and train staff to fill current roles and upgrade existing personnel.

  • Budget Control: Oversee departmental activities related to planning, justifying, and completing all capital expenditures for engineering projects within budget constraints.

  • Project Coordination: Administer and supervise engineering projects to ensure timely, economical, and high-quality completion.

  • Technical Support: Provide electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and engineering advice to operations and maintenance teams.

  • Liaison: Act as a liaison between utility companies and the organization.

  • Efficiency Improvement: Collaborate with purchasing to assess and improve efficiency through facility expansion or modification, including the use of outside services.

  • Engineering Plans: Develop plans and information essential to engineering projects, including layout sketches, calculations, drawings, and capital appropriation justifications.

  • Project Monitoring: Track and monitor project progression to ensure compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and specifications. Prepare interim and completion reports.

  • Installation Oversight: Ensure machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.

  • Problem Resolution: Implement operating procedures and resolve system malfunctions in collaboration with appropriate personnel.

  • External Services: Determine the need for specialized or technical services from outside sources during breakdowns, obtain approval, and contact equipment manufacturers as needed.

  • Accident Analysis: Analyze causes of accidents and injuries within the area of responsibility and implement corrective actions.

  • Emergency Preparedness: Protect company property and equipment during emergencies and ensure engineering personnel are prepared for emergency actions.

  • Labor Management: Ensure employees meet work levels to minimize labor costs and complete jobs effectively and timely. Promote good housekeeping practices.

  • Environmental Management: Participate in the Environmental Management Systems Team, develop environmental policies, conduct annual reviews and audits, oversee key performance indicators, and ensure employee awareness of environmental compliance.

  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervise employees in the Engineering Department and assist in supervising hourly maintenance employees as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited university.

  • Experience: At least three years in a managerial or supervisory role.

  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Strong report writing and presentation skills. Advanced mathematical skills, including calculus, algebra, and statistical theory.

  • 8-15+ years of experience in an industrial environment with a focus on engineering and maintenance.

  • 5+ years of experience in a casting and rolling mill environment or similar metal/materials processing.




Pay Details: $110,000.00 to $140,000.00 per year
