Bankruptcy & Restructuring Legal Secretary

LHH Recruitment Solutions seeks an experienced legal secretary to provide administrative support to our incredible client's fast-paced law firm team. This full-time position requires an onsite visit to our client's downtown Pittsburgh office.

As our client's Legal Secretary, you'll play a vital role by providing support to the Bankruptcy and Restructuring practice group, which specializes in providing exceptional service to secured lenders and creditors, servicers, trade creditors, creditor committees, insurers, lessors of real and personal property, purchasers of distressed debt, assets or companies, and companies trying to restructure their business and finances.

What You'll Do:
  • Manage attorney calendars, prioritizing tasks and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Prepare, revise, and maintain legal documents.
  • Trial preparation experience, including preparing for mediation and arbitration proceedings and creating and organizing trial prep materials, exhibits, and witness binders.
  • Assist with e-filing in state, federal, and bankruptcy district courts.
  • Manage expense reports and ensure accurate attorney billing practices.
  • Transcribe legal dictation and maintain confidentiality of client information.
  • Utilize web-based case management systems for efficient document storage.

What We're Looking For:
  • 2+ years of recent experience working in a busy US law firm setting, supporting multiple attorneys in a highly administrative role is required (commercial bankruptcy is preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience e-filing with courts in multiple jurisdictions is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with bankruptcy procedures, including Chapters 7, 9, 11, 12, and 13, and out-of-court restructurings is highly preferred.
  • General knowledge of commercial and real estate loan modifications, amendments, and extensions, pre-bankruptcy protection planning, lien priority disputes, enforcement of security interests and mortgages, including UCC public and private sales, repossessions and foreclosures, State and Federal receiverships, loan sales, and mechanics liens is highly preferred.
  • Robust scheduling, prioritization, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software is a must.
  • Experience with formatting, reviewing, and drafting legal documents.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Notary public licensure and paralegal certification are preferred.
