Exciting Career Opportunity: Payroll Specialist

Are you ready to take your payroll career to the next level? Join a thriving Tri-Valley company that has partnered with LHH Recruitment Solutions to find a talented Payroll Specialist. This temp-to-hire opportunity is perfect for someone with 2-3 years of payroll experience looking to expand their skill set in a dynamic, high-volume, team-oriented environment. This role is in office daily.

Key Contributions:

  • Collect and process timecards, ensuring accurate calculation and entry of hours.

  • Audit timecards to ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, and collaborate with team supervisors on necessary adjustments.

  • Update payroll records, including changes to deductions, benefits, and savings.

  • Prepare tax reports, payroll summaries, PTO balance reports, and benefits data.

  • Address employee inquiries and resolve payroll discrepancies.

  • Issue W-2s and prepare checks and direct deposits.

Experience Needed:

  • Minimum of two years as a Payroll Clerk or Specialist.

  • Familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP, UKG, Paylocity, or Paycor.

  • Experience in a project-based company is a plus.

  • Proficiency in Excel and ten-key by touch.

  • Understanding of California wage and hour laws.

  • Accounting education (AA or BA) is a plus.
