LHH is looking for a full time Accounting Assistant to join our client growing company headquartered in Portland, OR. This role is a contract to hire position that is fully remote with the occasional once a quarter in person meeting.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable:

  1. Review AR Aging in Netsuite daily.

  2. Generate and send out invoices to customers promptly.

  3. Post customer payments (cash, checks, and credit card transactions) daily.

  4. Perform daily bank reconciliation.

  5. Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers, and other financial records.

  6. Monitor customer accounts for non-payment and delayed payment.

  7. Initiate payment plans or collections for past-due accounts.

  8. Alert management in cases of non-payment.

  9. Provide customer service and support for discrepancies or disputes.

Accounts Payable:

  1. Review AP Aging in Netsuite daily.

  2. Monitor sales orders, purchase orders, and deposit balances against customer accounts receivables balances and cash reports.

  3. Prepare Wire batches for approval.

  4. Resolve purchase order, contract, invoice, and payment discrepancies and documentation.

  5. Ensure credit memos for vendor accounts are applied to Accounts Payable accordingly.

Collaboration & Communication:

  1. Work with the project management team to establish new accounts and address billing or payment issues.

  2. Communicate with customers regarding billing discrepancies and queries.

  3. Liaise with vendors to ensure accuracy in financial statements.

Continuous Improvement:

  1. Assist in implementing changes to systems and processes.

  2. Contribute to the monthly close process and analysis.

Netsuite Administration:

  1. Administer customer information and updates in the NetSuite system.

Qualifications:

  1. 3 years of experience in Accounts Payable.

  2. 3 years of experience in Accounts Receivable and billing.

  3. 3 years of experience in General Accounting.

  4. Experience with Netsuite preferred, or a similar ERP system.

  5. Experience with Key Performance Indicators and Diagnostic reports is desirable.

  6. Knowledge of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

  7. Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.

  8. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

  9. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

Computer Skills:

  1. Proficiency in data entry and MS Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (with advanced functions like Vlookup, Hlookup, Pivot Table, and Index).

  2. Preferred experience working in a major ERP system (e.g., Oracle NetSuite, Oracle EBS, SAP, Mas90, Sage, Great Plains, Microsoft Dynamics) for at least 3 years.

This Assistant Accountant role requires a strong background in accounting, a good understanding of financial systems like Netsuite, and excellent communication and organizational skills. The individual in this role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely payments and collections.

Compensation: $60K-$70K
