Job Title: Accounting Specialist Location: NE Portland, OR Salary: $25 - $29 per hour, Contract to Hire Working Hours: Fully Onsite- 8-5pm Job Description: We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our team in NE Portland, OR. The ideal candidate will possess advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, a solid understanding of general computer and web-based programs, and a familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The primary responsibilities of this role will include AP and AR and effective written communication. Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable (AP/AR) functions as the primary responsibility.
  • Employ advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word to develop, sustain, and scrutinize financial documents and reports.
  • Display adeptness in utilizing general computer applications and web-based tools.
  • Articulate financial documentation clearly and concisely through proficient written communication skills.
  • Collaborate closely with the accounting team to bolster financial operations and reporting.
  • Physically handle, transport, and manage large boxes of supplies weighing up to 50 pounds as necessary.
  • Perform tasks requiring stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching for limited durations.
  • Maintain a professional and cooperative demeanor while engaging with employees, members, board members, vendors, and the public.
Qualifications:
  • Possess an advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in navigating general computer and web-based programs.
  • Exhibit a foundational understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Showcase effective writing skills for financial documentation.
  • Accumulate 2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable (AP/AR) roles.
