LHH is assisting a Portland, Oregon firm who is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Bankruptcy Legal Assistant with at least three years of experience.

Candidates should have excellent organizational and proofreading skills, be able to coordinate with support teams and administrative agencies, and enjoy detailed work in a busy, deadline-driven environment. Hybrid work may be available after the first 30 days.

Typical duties include:

  • Litigation administrative support (document preparation, case management, transcription, timekeeping, billing, calendar management, and maintaining confidential information).
  • Preparing, editing, and finalizing documents for filing with state and federal courts and other parties/agencies.
  • Checking in regularly with attorneys on project deadlines and prompting as needed.
  • Assigning tasks to other departments and staff, following up on status, and communicating clearly with all team members.
  • Communicating with clients and other legal professionals in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assisting other team members and attorneys as needed.

Ideal candidates possess:

  • At least three years of experience as a litigation legal assistant supporting attorneys and paralegals. Experience with Bankruptcy and filing in Washington, California, or Texas is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, solve problems, and take initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook, Adobe Acrobat (or similar), DocuSign, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with iManage or BigHand is a plus.
  • Excellent typing, grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to provide excellent service to internal and external parties.
  • The ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
