Job Title: Benefits Coordinator Location: Hybrid based in Portland, OR Duration: 6-12 month contract Salary: $30 - $40 per hour DOE Hours: M-F, 8am-5pm
Job Description: LHH Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Benefits Coordinator to join our client's team. This role requires 2+ years of experience in a dedicated benefits position, rather than a generalist role. Our client is large and well-known in the Portland area, and do plenty of great things to help the community. Someone who is passionate about doing great things for others will thrive here!
Key Responsibilities:
Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits.
Conduct benefits orientations and explain benefits self-enrollment systems.
Maintain employee benefits records and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction.
Assist employees with health, dental, life, and other related benefit claims.
Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims, and costs.
Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
Review and respond to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of two years of experience in a dedicated benefits position.
Strong understanding of benefits administration, laws, and regulations, ideally in Oregon.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
