Job Description:

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join our procurement team in Portland, Oregon. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, supplies, and services to meet the company's operational requirements. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen eye for market trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement: Source and purchase materials, supplies, and services in line with company policies and budgetary constraints.

  • Vendor Management: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and manage stock to avoid shortages or excess.

  • Cost Analysis: Conduct cost-benefit analysis to ensure the best value for the company.

  • Market Research: Stay updated on market trends, pricing, and new products to make informed purchasing decisions.

  • Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations.

  • Reporting: Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role.

  • Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.

  • Certifications: Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or similar certification is a plus.
