Position Summary:
The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of the credentialing, re-credentialing, and privileging processes for providers. The Credentialing Specialist maintains up-to-date data for each credentialed provider in tracking spreadsheets to ensure timely renewal of licenses and certifications.
Job Duties:
Compile and maintain current and accurate data for all providers.
Ensure practice information is current with health plans, agencies, and other entities.
Set up and maintain provider information in credentialing spreadsheets.
Conduct thorough background investigations, research, and primary source verification for all components of the credentialing file.
Complete provider credentialing and re-credentialing applications; monitor applications and follow up as needed.
Prepare credential files for presentation and approval.
Maintain copies of current state licenses, DEA certificates, malpractice coverage, and other required credentialing documents for all providers.
Submit and monitor National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) queries and continuous queries.
Verify and record degrees.
Maintain knowledge of current health plan and agency requirements for credentialing providers.
Monitor provider status to ensure reappointment every two years.
Respond to inquiries from other healthcare organizations and interface with internal and external customers on day-to-day credentialing and privileging issues as they arise.
Maintain confidentiality of provider information.
Provide credentialing and privileging verifications.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years of recent experience in credentialing
Strong organizational skills with the ability to compile and maintain accurate records.
Knowledge of current health plan and agency requirements for credentialing providers.
Excellent research and primary source verification skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
Strong communication skills for interacting with healthcare organizations, providers, and internal teams.
Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Familiarity with credentialing software and databases.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong customer service orientation.

Pay Details: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour
