LHH has partnered with our client in Portland, OR, to find a skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA). This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal performance, security, and reliability of the company's database systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database management and a proactive approach to improving database operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, install, configure, and maintain database systems to ensure high performance, availability, and security.

  • Monitor and optimize the performance of databases, including tuning SQL queries and database configurations.

  • Implement and manage database backup, recovery, and replication strategies.

  • Develop and enforce database standards and guidelines to ensure data integrity and consistency.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly.

  • Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize database schemas and queries.

  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations.

  • Stay updated with the latest database technologies and trends.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator.

  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with various database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).

  • Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization techniques.

  • Experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.

  • Familiarity with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle DBA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator) are a plus.

Employment type: ongoing contract

Hours: 40 per week, 100% onsite
