Job Description:
LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a Portland law firm to find an Estate Planning Paralegal to join their team! This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Responsibilities:
- Draft and prepare estate planning documents, correspondence, memoranda, accountings, pleadings, and court forms
- Assist with trust administration, probate filings, and the preparation of estate and gift tax returns
- Conduct document review and maintain organized files, databases, and client records
- Communicate with clients and serve as a point of contact, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
- Support attorneys in preparing for meetings and managing case-related deadlines
- Perform basic legal research and track relevant documentation across platforms
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in trusts and estates or probate law
- Certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program
- Paralegal certification (e.g., RP, CRP, OCP)
- Familiarity with Oregon and Washington probate and estate laws (or applicable jurisdictions)
- Strong knowledge of estate planning and administration processes, including relevant tax returns
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and familiarity with legal software
- Excellent attention to detail, grammar, and proofreading skills
- Ability to prioritize, manage multiple deadlines, and work under pressure
- Comfortable with legal formatting, redlining, and cross-referencing within documents
