Job Title: Financial Accounting Analyst
Location: Portland, OR
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire, Fully Onsite
Compensation: $90,000 - $116,000 a year DOE + up to 12% annual bonus

We have an exciting opportunity for an Financial Accounting Analyst to join our client in Portland, OR The Financial Accounting Analyst will be responsible for leading fixed asset and depreciation reporting, preparing regulatory and financial reports, and supporting benefit and pension accounting. This role offers a unique blend of accounting, financial analysis, and compliance work, with significant visibility across leadership and regulatory stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Plan and direct company-wide depreciation and fixed asset reporting
  • Support and participate in regulatory commission meetings and proceedings

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and quarterly/annual FERC reports

  • Manage accounting processes related to pension, post-employment, and benefit plans

  • Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries

  • Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and maintain internal controls

  • Support operational reporting and performance analysis

  • Respond to data requests from utility commissions

  • Produce analytical reports and narratives for internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:
• 5–7 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis (3+ years with a degree related to accounting or finance)
  • Strong background in fixed asset, benefit, or regulatory accounting

  • Industry experience in energy, utilities, or construction is a plus

  • Strong analytical and writing skills; capable of working with large datasets

  • Experience with SOX compliance and general ledger reconciliations

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required with qualifying experience
