HR Benefits Specialist
LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with an innovative nonprofit agency in the Portland metro area is seeking an HR Benefits Specialist to join their team. This organization provides comprehensive services to individuals and families impacted by homelessness, poverty, and addiction. With significant growth on the horizon, including the opening of a new property, they need a dedicated benefits professional to support their mission of ending homelessness through effective and compassionate service delivery.
Location: Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote) Portland, OR Hours/Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm Duration: Direct Hire - Perm role Compensation: $31-$41 per hour, DOE Parking: Public lots available (no dedicated parking) Reports To: HR Benefits Manager Responsibilities:Manage day-to-day benefits administration and support.
Document and streamline benefits processes.
Prepare for and assist with the upcoming open enrollment period in October.
Utilize UKG for benefits administration and reporting.
Provide support and guidance to employees regarding benefits-related inquiries.
Maintain and update benefits documentation and procedures.
Collaborate with the HR team on various benefits-related projects.
Support additional tasks as needed to ensure smooth operation of the benefits function.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience specifically in benefits administration REQUIRED, rather than general HR roles.
Proficiency with benefits software and systems; experience with UKG is preferred.
Strong documentation and process management skills.
Passion for working in a nonprofit environment and supporting the organization's mission.
Ability to effectively communicate benefits information and support employees with diverse needs.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Why This Position is Open: The position is open due to an increased workload and the need for specialized benefits support. The organization currently does not have headcount for a permanent employee but requires immediate assistance to manage benefits effectively.
