Job Title: Human Resources and Payroll Specialist
Location: Onsite – Portland, OR
Contract Duration: 3 to 6 months (with potential for permanent hire)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Full-Time
Compensation: $27 – $35 per hour, DOE (Depending on Experience)
About the Role
LHH Recruitment is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Human Resources and Payroll Specialist to support our client's HR operations and ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. This is a contract position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working collaboratively across teams.
Key Responsibilities
Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
Maintain and update employee records in HRIS and payroll systems.
Assist with recruitment and onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire documentation and exit interviews.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and HR policies.
Support benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies.
Generate reports and assist with audits as needed.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in payroll and human resources.
Proficiency with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar).
Strong understanding of employment laws and payroll regulations.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Pay Details: $27.00 to $35.00 per hour
