Job Title: Human Resources and Payroll Specialist
Location: Onsite – Portland, OR
Contract Duration: 3 to 6 months (with potential for permanent hire)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Full-Time
Compensation: $27 – $35 per hour, DOE (Depending on Experience)


About the Role

LHH Recruitment is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Human Resources and Payroll Specialist to support our client's HR operations and ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. This is a contract position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working collaboratively across teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.

  • Maintain and update employee records in HRIS and payroll systems.

  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire documentation and exit interviews.

  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and HR policies.

  • Support benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies.

  • Generate reports and assist with audits as needed.



Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in payroll and human resources.

  • Proficiency with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar).

  • Strong understanding of employment laws and payroll regulations.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.



Pay Details: $27.00 to $35.00 per hour
