LHH is currently looking for an Interim CFO/Controller level consultant. This role will be working very closely with the CEO, during a transition period, to be a good “hands-on” manager to lead and mentor the accounting team with all daily activities. Will also assist with revamping the company’s budget process, reporting and other accounting/finance related areas.

This is non-profit organization so prior industry experience is required. Could have some remote flexibility but prefers someone local to have more onsite exposure to interact more with execuitives and staff.

Job Responcibilities -

  • Oversee all the company’s daily accounting responcibilities and activites through the month-end close; ok to jump in to help or mentor accounting staff when needed

  • Assist with company’s finance functions and areas - budgets/forecasting, financial reporting, cash flow analysis/forecasting, P&Ls…etc.

  • Interim management/supervision of accounting staff

  • Process/procedure improvement - work closely with Executives to improve financial areas within the organization

  • Interact with external CPA firm

  • Other financial projects need or that might come up during this transition period

Qualifications -

  • Bachelor’s Degree - Accounting or Finance; CPA (active or inactive) big plus

  • 10+ years general accounting and company finance experience; strong analysis

  • 5+ years management experience - able to lead by example, provide leadership/mentoring to staff

  • 5+ years Non-Profit, Real Estate or Affordable Housing - mandatory!

  • Strong background in process improvement within an organization

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills - able to interact well with staff and Executive team; good presentation skills when needed

  • Strong computer skills; able to improve or utilize a system for better usage and effective ness

Consulting Rate: $ 70 - $100/hr pay DOE

Length of contract: expected around 3-6 months
