Job Title: Legal Assistant - Corporate and Business Transactions
Salary: $56,000 to $91,500/year DOE
Location: Portland, OR (hybrid)
Direct Hire - Permanent
LHH seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Corporate Legal Assistant to join our client’s Business Department. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3+ years of experience as a corporate legal assistant supporting real estate, business transactions, and mergers and acquisitions. Experience with environmental regulatory agencies is a plus.
Typical Duties:
- Type, proofread format, run comparisons, and edit correspondence, contracts, and agreements.
- Manage and maintain calendars, including scheduling and coordinating appointments, meetings, and conference calls.
- Manage client billing, including reviewing and editing pre-bills, and sending bills to clients.
- Check in regularly with attorneys on project deadlines and prompt as needed.
- Assign tasks to other departments and staff as appropriate, follow up on status to ensure timely completion, and communicate clearly with all team members on status.
- Maintain and organize legal files and documents, including electronic files, paper files, and minute books.
- Coordinate transactional closings, including updating closing checklists and coordinating with clients and other legal professionals.
- Assist with corporate filings and entity formation, including filing articles of incorporation, annual reports, and other related documents.
- Communicate with clients and other legal professionals professionally and courteously, both verbally and in writing.
- Docket annual reminders.
- Assist other team members and attorneys as needed.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience as a corporate legal assistant supporting real estate, corporate and business transactions, and mergers and acquisitions. Experience in environmental regulatory work is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, solve problems, and take initiative with minimal supervision.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Outlook. Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat (or similar), DocuSign, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Proficiency in BigHand is a plus.
- Excellent keyboarding, grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills.
