Job Title: Legal Assistant
Location: Portland, Oregon
Schedule: Hybrid
Salary: $50,000-$75,000 DOE

Job Description:
LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for a legal assistant to join our client’s team in Portland, Oregon. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience supporting attorneys in litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in case management, scheduling, and document preparation, with a preference for those experienced in workers' compensation law.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and update electronic case files, including organizing documents and maintaining case status
  • Handle docketing and attorney calendars, scheduling hearings, depositions, mediations, and deadlines
  • Draft, edit, and prepare legal correspondence and court filings
  • File pleadings with courts and agencies and ensure compliance with filing deadlines
  • Process invoices, prepare attorney expense reports, and handle case-related administrative tasks
  • Coordinate meetings and support attorneys by tracking time-sensitive deadlines and managing case materials
  • Close case files upon matter resolution and ensure accurate recordkeeping

Qualifications:
  • At least two years of experience as a legal assistant, preferably in workers’ compensation or insurance defense
  • Knowledge of court filing procedures in Oregon and/or Washington
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong proofreading skills with attention to grammar, spelling, and overall clarity
  • Ability to multi-task, work proactively, and identify missing information or inconsistencies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
