Job Title: Logistics Accountant
Location: Hillsboro, OR
Job Type: Contract to Hire, Full Time, Fully Onsite
Compensation: $25 - $26 an hour DOE
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Logistics Accountant to join our client’s team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing their logistics and accounting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions related to shipping and freight. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and Process Bills of Lading: Accurately prepare and process bills of lading to ensure smooth and efficient shipment documentation.
Accrue Freight: Timely and accurately accrue freight charges due to vendors, maintaining meticulous records.
Manage Route and Customer Changes: Effectively manage changes in shipping routes or customer requirements, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Daily Follow-Up: Monitor and follow up on delayed and late shipments daily, taking necessary actions to resolve issues promptly.
Assist Sales and Customers: Provide estimated times of arrival (ETAs) for shipments in route, assisting sales teams and customers with timely and accurate information.
Build Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with sales teams, customers, and vendors, demonstrating confidence and reliability in all interactions.
Assume Additional Responsibilities: Take on additional responsibilities as required, providing support and backup to the department to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Logistics, or a related field.
3+ years of proven experience in accounting
Strong understanding of logistics processes and accounting principles.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience with ERP systems and logistics software
Familiarity with international shipping regulations and documentation.
Previous experience in a fast-paced logistics or transportation environment.
