LHH is currently recruiting for a Public Tax Manager with a larger, regional CPA firm. This role will be part of the continued growth in their division covering construction clientele. The company HQs are located in the Portland, OR metro area along with offices in other states including WA, CA, ID, UT, AZ and MT. This role will offer a mostly remote option but needs to have some onsite presence when needed. This will NOT be a fully remote role!
Highly preferred that someone reside in Portland, OR, Denver, CO or Salt Lake City, UT - will consider strong candidates for other offices they have offices in and will help with relocation assistance
Company is looking to hire someone around May to allow strong candidates complete the current tax season before exploring new opportunities.
Overall Responsibilities:
· Focus on tax areas for construction clients
· Research and Development (R&D), credit incentives
· Interact with other departments as needed
· Help to grow and develop client base
· Strong client interaction
· Ability to help mentor, supervise and lead more junior members of the tax team
Background:
· Bachelor’s Degree – Accounting or equivalent
· Open to strong Senior Tax level candidates looking to take the next step in their public career
· 6+ years in public tax – highly preferred working with prior construction companies
· Active CPA license or completion of CPA exam – MANDATORY, will help to get license active if needed
· Strong working knowledge of R&D
· Good interpersonal skills to interact professionally with clients – written and in person
· Strong computer skills
Salary = $120k-$135k base
