Inventory Manager
LHH is looking for a Temporary Inventory Project Manager for one of our clients in Queens, NY. This person will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing inventory management processes and ensuring the accurate, efficient, and cost-effective control of stock across all locations. This role involves leading projects related to inventory control, system improvements, and supply chain optimization. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of project management expertise, data-driven decision-making, and inventory management experience, working closely with various teams to achieve business objectives. This interim position will compensate between $35-40/hr, contingent on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
Oversee inventory levels and implement strategies to optimize stock levels, reduce waste, and improve turnover rates.
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, and stock control.
Ensure compliance with inventory policies, procedures, and best practices.
Project Leadership:
Lead and manage projects related to inventory management, system upgrades, and process improvements.
Coordinate cross-functional teams including procurement, warehouse, logistics, and IT to ensure successful project delivery.
Establish project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, and ensure adherence to budgets.
System Implementation & Optimization:
Work closely with IT to implement or upgrade inventory management software and ERP systems.
Identify and resolve system inefficiencies and provide training and support to end-users.
Analyze current processes and recommend improvements to optimize inventory flow.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
Generate detailed reports and forecasts on inventory performance, and use data to inform decision-making.
Analyze trends to predict demand and prevent stock shortages or overstock situations.
Present regular updates to senior management on project progress and inventory metrics.
Stakeholder Communication:
Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments to ensure smooth inventory operations.
Maintain clear communication with key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment on goals and timelines.
Risk Management:
Identify potential risks in inventory processes and develop contingency plans to mitigate those risks.
Ensure accurate inventory audits are conducted, and discrepancies are promptly addressed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, or related field.
3-5+ years of experience in inventory management, supply chain, or project management.
Proven track record of managing inventory-related projects and leading cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data analysis and reporting.
Excellent project management skills, including planning, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
Pay Details: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
