LHH is looking to fill the role of a Client Specialist with focus on working with applicants seeking or recertifying for housing voucher assistance. The candidate will be communicating and assisting clients via phone, email, and in some cases face-to-face in office. They will be assisting in the application process and requesting documentation for income and eligibility qualification. This role is a true blend of Customer Service, Administrative, and basic Accounting (calculating income). They are seeking candidates that have experience working in a client/customer facing environment, have excellent communication skills, and the ability to be both patient and persistent in obtaining the documentation needed from clients to successfully process applications and renewals.
Job Type: Contract to hire 6mos
Location: 100% Onsite in Raleigh, NC
Schedule: M-F, 830-5p w/ 1hr lunch. (37.5 hrs weekly)
Pay Rate: $18/hr
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under general supervision performs administrative work in determining initial eligibility of Section 8 applicants along with continuing eligibility for Section 8 recipients. Work includes interviewing tenants to gather information regarding income, employment status, family composition, and allowable deductions; verifying the information; and determining tenants’ continued eligibility for housing. Considerable attention to detail must be exercised in verifying information submitted by applicants and tenants. Tact and courtesy are required in extensive public contacts with program applicants and associated outside agencies.
DESIRABLE EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Graduation from high school or its equivalent. An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration is preferred, with 2-3 years experience in public housing programs; or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) and Customer Service experience are preferred. Experience with Word and Excel.
Pay Details: $18.00 to $18.50 per hour
