Job Title: Housing Voucher Specialist


Location: Renton, WA


Length: Contract to Hire


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Housing Voucher Specialist to join our team in Renton, WA. The Housing Voucher Specialist will play a crucial role in administering housing assistance programs and providing support to individuals and families seeking affordable housing options.


Responsibilities:


· Administer housing voucher programs, including Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.


· Conduct eligibility screenings and interviews for applicants seeking housing assistance.


· Determine applicant eligibility based on income, household size, and other program requirements.


· Process and issue housing vouchers to eligible individuals and families.


· Provide guidance and support to voucher holders on finding suitable rental housing.


· Conduct inspections of rental units to ensure compliance with program standards and regulations.


· Maintain accurate records and documentation related to program participants and housing units.


· Collaborate with property owners, landlords, and community partners to facilitate successful housing placements.


· Stay updated on changes in housing policies and regulations affecting voucher programs.


Qualifications and Skills:


· Associates degree in Social Work, Public Administration, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute for degree.


· Minimum of 2 years of experience in affordable housing, housing assistance programs, or related field.


· Knowledge of federal, state, and local housing laws and regulations.


· Familiarity with guidelines pertaining to housing voucher programs.


· Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.


· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.


· Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and database management software.


· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Details: $28.00 to $30.00 per hour Search managed by: Gerald Morales
