LHH is working with a property management firm in the Renton, WA area to search for a temporary to hire Property Accountant. The Property Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial operations related to our property portfolio. This role involves preparing financial statements, managing property budgets, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property management accounting and a keen eye for detail. This position offers a hybrid work schedule and a supportive management team. Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate financial records for property management accounts.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Reconcile property management accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable for property-related transactions.
  • Process rent rolls, lease agreements, and tenant payments.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for property performance.
  • Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process for property expenses and revenue.
  • Conduct regular audits of property financials and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with property managers and other departments to resolve financial issues and provide support.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of property tax returns and other regulatory filings.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and recommend improvements for financial management.
Qualifications:
  • Three or more years of experience in property accounting or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of real estate laws and regulations is a plus.
