LHH has partnered with a firm in the greater Richmond VA market to assist in finding a Lease Accounting candidate!

As a Real Estate Lease Accountant, you will play a key role in managing financial operations related to property leases. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Accounts Receivable Management: Monitor and reconcile tenant payments, ensuring timely collection and accurate reporting.

  • Month-End Closing: Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile lease-related accounts, and support financial close processes.

  • Account Reconciliation: Perform detailed reconciliations of lease accounts, including rent, CAM charges, and security deposits.

  • Banking Relationships: Liaise with financial institutions to manage lease-related transactions and ensure compliance with banking protocols.

  • Revenue Recognition: Apply appropriate accounting standards to recognize lease revenue accurately and consistently.

  • Lease Documentation Review: Analyze lease agreements to ensure proper accounting treatment and compliance with company policies.


Job Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in lease accounting, preferably within the property management or construction industry.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and lease accounting principles.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.



Pay Details: $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year
