Part-time Communications Assistant
LHH is seeking a Part-Time Communications Assistant to provide administrative support to ensure the smooth functioning of the church office. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can handle a variety of tasks with a friendly demeanor and a strong sense of confidentiality. The ideal candidate will be available immediately and be able to commit to a part time schedule.
Schedule: 20 hours a week, flexible between core hours of 9 AM - 4 PMKey Responsibilities:
- Answer phones and respond to emails in a professional and courteous manner.
- Greet visitors and assist with inquiries or direct them to the appropriate staff member.
- Maintain and organize church records, files, and documentation.
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating meetings, events, and services.
- Assist staff members in communicating their ministry in effective ways (i.e., brochures, promotional materials, and digital media)
- Stay current with developing social media technologies in order to promote the presbytery’s mission and ministries
- Handle online registrations for POJ events
- Attend staff meetings and all staff events
- Prepare and distribute church bulletins, newsletters, and other communication materials.
- Perform data entry and manage databases as needed.
- Handle office supplies and maintain inventory levels.
- Support the planning and execution of church events and activities.
- Assist with financial documentation and record-keeping.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the church staff.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in office administration is a plus.
- Proven experience as an office assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Experience with Canva, Adobe, and/or WordPress highly desirable
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable with office equipment (e.g., printers, fax machines).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to work as part of a team.
