Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to manage procurement activities, ensuring that goods and services are sourced efficiently and cost-effectively. This role is essential for maintaining supply chain continuity and supporting our operational needs during this temporary assignment.
Our client is open to hiring candidates on either a contract-to-hire or direct hire basis, depending on their experience.
Responsibilities:
Execute the procurement process for goods and services, including vendor selection, price negotiation, and contract management.
Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, ensuring quality and timely delivery of goods and services.
Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Monitor and manage inventory levels to meet production and operational needs.
Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
Review and analyze bids, proposals, and vendor contracts to ensure best value.
Resolve issues related to order discrepancies, supplier performance, and delivery delays.
Collaborate with internal departments to understand procurement needs and provide support.
Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier communications.
Ensure compliance with all relevant procurement regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
Proven experience (3-5 years) in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management preferred.
Strong negotiation skills with a focus on cost reduction and value optimization.
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess supplier performance and market trends.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with procurement regulations and best practices.
Preferred Skills:
Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPM, CPSM).
Knowledge of contract management and legal aspects of procurement.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
