Accounting Specialist

LHH is assisting with a search for an Accounting Specialist for Client in North Kansas City, MO. This role will be working on-site with pay starting at $22/hour and going up based on experience. Our ideal candidate will have a blended accounting background including AP, AR, general ledger, month end clos and inventory accounting experience. Read below for additional details!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Accurately record all financial transactions in the general ledger, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

• Perform month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and generating financial statements.

• Manage inventory accounting processes, including tracking and valuing inventory, and reconciling discrepancies.

• Process vendor invoices, ensure timely payments, and maintain accurate records of all transactions.

• Generate customer invoices, track payments, and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure timely collections.

• Assist with shipping process, including scheduling shipments, preparing shipping documents, and ensuring timely delivery of goods.

• Communicate with clients as needed regarding shipment status, providing updates and addressing any concerns regarding invoicing.

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

• HS Diploma-required! Associates or Bachelors Degree in Accounting-preferred

• 2+ years of Accounting experience including AP, AR, general ledger, month end clos and inventory accounting experience

• Excel skills – above average – formulas, pivot tables

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent self-management as well as project management skills

• Great attention to detail and superior organizational skills

• Ability to work on-site
